AP ‘corrects’ claim Ted Cruz called pro-abortion protesters ‘Satan worshippers’

Protesters: "Hail satan."

Ted Cruz: "They said 'hail satan.'

AP/NatJourno: "Cruz called protesters satanists."— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) March 13, 2014

At an abortion bill protest at the Texas Capitol last summer, abortion rights supporters engaged in a chant of “hail Satan” in an attempt to drown out the prayers of some pro-life groups.

At an event in Texas yesterday, Sen. Ted Cruz simply quoted what happened, stating that the pro-aborts were “arm-in-arm, chanting ‘Hail, Satan,’ embracing the right to take the life of a late-term child.”

Somehow that has translated into Ted Cruz comparing the pro abortion demonstrators to Satanists:!/emmaroller/status/444167102379724800

The Associated Press got in on the act big time:!/AndrewStilesUSA/status/444160040518557696

The original AP report claimed that Cruz (and other speakers) called the pro-abortion protesters “Satan worshippers.”

The AP subsequently issued a correction (but not an apology):!/amandacarpenter/status/444176796867919872

Newsbusters reports media outlets running the original AP story included the “Dallas Morning News, The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, U.S. News and World Report and several other organizations.”!/StarzandStrypz/status/444232543886671872
