‘Awkward and creepy’: What do you think of Economist’s Obama cover? [photo]
@TheEconomist Mission Accomplished?

Well, this is sure to raise a few eyebrows:

Wow.
Not the second term he (or anyone else) was expecting, huh? http://t.co/VZYazPKjlM pic.twitter.com/rQGk4J5bAd

No sir. Not a picture we were expecting, either:
They have to photoshop him into a military uniform and even then it looks awkward. pic.twitter.com/nQvXrs7hXk

The guy has never even served. This photoshop is unnatural. pic.twitter.com/TKac3pg7tq

Yeah, it kinda does. See, when we think of President Obama, this is the sort of image that comes to mind:
Economist cover gave #Obama too much cred, Bush actually was a fighter pilot. Obama is, …well Obama.#tcot pic.twitter.com/84bSquNyDX

But if The Economist insists on depicting Obama in a flight suit, there are steps they could take to at least make it more believable:
This would be much more realistic if Obama had a coffee cup in his hand and was heading to a marathon of fundraisers. pic.twitter.com/uDHD7yLXtP

Or, better yet:
.@TheEconomist If you're going to PS Obama into a flight suit, at least start with a plausible photo.@TarheelKrystle pic.twitter.com/bc2gHmImV0

Now that’s what we call “fake, but accurate.”
